The Big 2-7

I had an awesome birthday weekend. Saturday, I had a great birthday breakfast at Tower Cafe in Sacramento. Then, Jonathan and I went to the 75Th anniversary of Gallo. They had everything for kids and adults, including a tour of the underground wine cellar. It was very well done. See the picture to the right of Jonathan with some celebrities.
The highlight of the weekend, besides the cards, gifts, and birthday wishes from many of you, was the surprise party Saturday night. Jonathan was very sneaky in his planning. We had a low country boil with our best Cali friends. Thanks to Steve and Jen for hosting it at their beautiful house. It was such a great time. The picture above is me with my Sactown girlfriends - Amy, Jen, and Mandy!

We had a great weekend with Jonathan's parents. We visited San Francisco on the 8th. Then we went to Monterey, Carmel, Big Sur Coast, and Paso Robles this past weekend. This is a picture of us in front of the Lone Cypress on the 17 mile drive. This goes down Highway 1 past such famous golf courses as Pebble Beach.
We enjoyed celebrating Father's Day with David but missed having my dad and mom there with us.

I am of course looking forward to the big 2-7 this weekend!!

I can't believe it, but we've celebrated our second
anniversary. We visited Paso Robles & Santa Barbara
Memorial Day weekend. They were both beautiful.
There are a lot of smaller wineries in Paso Robles that we visited, including Dark Star where this picture was taken by the owner's wife. They make great reds. The wife & mother works this tasting room and their boxer roams around or sleeps while people come in and out. Behind this room is another tasting room for their son's winery. Their daughter, his sister, works in that room. They are very nice people, and this is the only picture of the two of us from the entire trip. There is a very nice picture of Paso wine country at the bottom of the page, so scroll all the way down.

Happy Birthday to my dad by the way. He turned the big 6-0 on 5/27!!

We love and miss y'all,

Kim & Jonathan

Kristen's Visit

The first weekend in May, my friend Kristen came out to California for an early birthday celebration. I met up with her and her mom at the end of their trip for a weekend in wine country. We visited Sonoma, Dry Creek, Healdsburg, and Napa. It went by so quick but we had a great time. I always love getting visitors, so any of you are welcome to come stay with us.

This is us at Gloria Ferrer Champagne Caves in Sonoma. One of the best views, great wine, and we had such great weather!!

Well, I'm very sad that my girls have come and gone. We only had two days to do all that I wanted. We went to San Francisco, Muir Woods, Sonoma, Napa, and Lake Tahoe. I can't wait to see them again soon. We finished our big ski trip to Tahoe this month, and I'm happy to report that no one was injured. Jonathan and I had a great time with all of our friends and hope to make it an annual event. Nothing much coming up for us. I'm going to Vegas for work next month, and my friend Kristen is visiting in May. Our 2nd anniversary is also in May. We wanted to go to San Diego, but we might be changing our plans.

I'm also happy to announce the newest addition to the Jussely family, Hallie Carrington. She was born Tuesday morning, and we're so excited!! The girls outnumber the guys now!! Congratuations to Daniel and Lucy!!

We miss you all and come visit soon!!

Love,

Kim & Jonathan

This past weekend, we went to our first ski lesson. I've been skiing once before, but J had never gone. We did pretty well until we went up on our own after the lesson. I lost one of my poles on the lift, and then we both ate it on the way down. I knew we should have stayed on the same slope we went down during our lesson. We had to head home early because a huge storm was headed up there. We go back to South Lake Tahoe next weekend for 4 days. I'm not sure my calves can take it. Scroll down to the bottom of our blog to see another great picture.

Almost Spring

Well, we think winter is over here. It's been in the 60's the past couple of weeks. This picture was taken in Napa this past weekend. The vines have been pruned and the mustard grass is growing everywhere. What a beautiful picture.

Things are starting to slow down at work for both of us and we're getting back to our routines after the holidays. J is still traveling to Denver every other week, but we've had lots of fun weekends.

For Valentine's Day, we toured Opus One and had lunch in Napa. In 3 weeks, we're going skiing with some of J's friends from NY & Chicago. Wish me luck!!

2 of my best friends are visiting at the end of March, along with a pal from Italy in April, and another great Tampa friend in May.

Who else is ready for a trip out west? The door is always open with two beds always empty.

We love y'all,

Kim
