We'll be home for Christmas

Well, it's been a while since I put a new post. I've been hooked on Facebook and wanted to give everyone an update.

What a year it has been. We have so many blessings and are so thankful for what this year brought us. We were able to explore our current state a lot more this year. We went skiing in March with old and new friends in Tahoe. In May, we celebrated our second anniversary in Paso Robles and Santa Barbara. In June, Jonathan's parents visited. We went to Monterey and Carmel with them for the first time, along with San Simeon. I'd never seen seals outside of Sea World or a zoo before that. We had other friends come and visit us, Tahoe, and wine country. Daniel and Lucy Jussely celebrated their 5th Anniversary in August with a trip to Napa and San Francisco. I visited home in September. In October, Jonathan celebrated his 30th Birthday. We haven't taken the hot air balloon ride yet, and we'll explain why to all of you when we're home. For Thanksgiving, we visited Disneyland to enjoy turkey legs, Space Mountain, and Mickey Mouse ice cream bars. And now, we save the best for last....a visit to all of you.
We're leaving next Thursday afternoon, 12/18, and flying into Birmingham late that night. We will be in Mississippi from the 19th through Christmas Day. We finally get to meet our new niece and nephew. Christmas Day we head to the Palmetto State, where we'll be until the 30th or 31st. We fly back on the 31st. Hope we can see you all while we're back. Delta will not be making the trip, but I thought you'd like this picture of her enjoying our holiday fireplace.

Once again, the lease on our cabin in Truckee has begun, so everyone is welcome to come skiing. We're actually going this weekend to check it out.

We love y'all and can't wait to see you soon.

Who wants to go skiing?

Well the summer is coming to an end, and we're already thinking about ski season. This year, we're going in with three of our friends on a ski lease up in North Lake Tahoe. All of you are invited to come skiing. It's $50/person per night, which is a steal compared to hotel pricing in that area. Here is a link to the house:

It's slightly disco-fabulous, but it's close to lots of resorts. If you're really interested, I can send more information.

Other than, we're trying to root on the Tigers, who seem to be struggling. I had a great time visiting my family and friends last weekend, despite Clemson's loss. Thanks to everyone who helped get me from one place to the other, or let me crash at their place.

We miss y'all and hope to see you again at Christmas.

Love,

Kim, Jonathan, & Delta

July "4th" concert

On Saturday, July 5th, we saw The Preservation Hall Jazz Band at the Robert Mondavi Winery. It was great and they played great songs like "Tiger Rag" and "When the Saints Go Marching In". The summer concert series at the Mondavi Winery is 30+ year tradition, and the Preservation Hall Jazz Band was a favorite of Mr. Mondavi since the beginning. It was an awesome experience. Since then, we have been busy at work but not play. We're waiting on Daniel and Lucy to come visit.

We love and miss you all,

Kim & Jonathan

The Big 2-7

I had an awesome birthday weekend. Saturday, I had a great birthday breakfast at Tower Cafe in Sacramento. Then, Jonathan and I went to the 75Th anniversary of Gallo. They had everything for kids and adults, including a tour of the underground wine cellar. It was very well done. See the picture to the right of Jonathan with some celebrities.
The highlight of the weekend, besides the cards, gifts, and birthday wishes from many of you, was the surprise party Saturday night. Jonathan was very sneaky in his planning. We had a low country boil with our best Cali friends. Thanks to Steve and Jen for hosting it at their beautiful house. It was such a great time. The picture above is me with my Sactown girlfriends - Amy, Jen, and Mandy!

Love y'all,

We had a great weekend with Jonathan's parents. We visited San Francisco on the 8th. Then we went to Monterey, Carmel, Big Sur Coast, and Paso Robles this past weekend. This is a picture of us in front of the Lone Cypress on the 17 mile drive. This goes down Highway 1 past such famous golf courses as Pebble Beach.
We enjoyed celebrating Father's Day with David but missed having my dad and mom there with us.

I am of course looking forward to the big 2-7 this weekend!!

I can't believe it, but we've celebrated our second
anniversary. We visited Paso Robles & Santa Barbara
Memorial Day weekend. They were both beautiful.
There are a lot of smaller wineries in Paso Robles that we visited, including Dark Star where this picture was taken by the owner's wife. They make great reds. The wife & mother works this tasting room and their boxer roams around or sleeps while people come in and out. Behind this room is another tasting room for their son's winery. Their daughter, his sister, works in that room. They are very nice people, and this is the only picture of the two of us from the entire trip. There is a very nice picture of Paso wine country at the bottom of the page, so scroll all the way down.

Happy Birthday to my dad by the way. He turned the big 6-0 on 5/27!!

We love and miss y'all,

Kim & Jonathan

Kristen's Visit

The first weekend in May, my friend Kristen came out to California for an early birthday celebration. I met up with her and her mom at the end of their trip for a weekend in wine country. We visited Sonoma, Dry Creek, Healdsburg, and Napa. It went by so quick but we had a great time. I always love getting visitors, so any of you are welcome to come stay with us.

This is us at Gloria Ferrer Champagne Caves in Sonoma. One of the best views, great wine, and we had such great weather!!
